Woman constable dies by suicide in Warangal

A woman constable in Warangal allegedly died by suicide at her in-laws’ house. A suicide note reportedly accused a fellow constable of harassment and mental torture. Police have registered a case of abetment to suicide and launched an investigation. Based on a complaint filed by the deceased woman’s relatives, a case was registered against the accused under charges of abetment to suicide and other relevant sections, and an investigation into the matter has been initiated, police said.

Woman electrocuted in Warangal’s Wardhannapet

A 45-year-old woman lost her life due to an electric shock at her residence in Yellanda village of Wardhannapet mandal in the district on Monday. The incident took place when the deceased, Oora Sammakka, was hanging a towel on a clothesline. She suffered a severe electric shock as electric current was flowing through the line and fell unconscious. Her family members immediately rushed her to the Government Hospital at Wardhannapet. Doctors at the hospital confirmed that she had already died by the time she arrived.

SR University, Warangal, recorded over 1,500 internship opportunities and strong placements in 2026, with the highest package reaching Rs 44 lakh per annum. Farmer dies at society market due to cardiac arrest at Warangal

A farmer died of cardiac arrest while waiting at an agricultural market in Warangal district on Sunday. Farmers alleged prolonged procurement delays were causing distress to cultivators. Similar incidents of farmers collapsing at procurement centres were reported in multiple Telangana districts recently. Farmers are charging that the officials were delaying procurement since last one month and subjecting the farming community to a lot of distress. Incidents of farmers collapsing at procurement centres occurred at Nalgonda, Rangareddy and Jayashankar Bhupalpally districts last week.

DRI catches man with protected Red Sand Boas in Warangal

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Hyderabad, apprehended a man during an undercover operation in Warangal for allegedly trading protected Indian Red Sand Boas. Two live snakes were seized and handed over to forest officials for further action under the Wildlife Act, 1972. Acting on the information, the DRI team conducted an undercover decoy operation on Saturday and caught the individual. “The person was carrying a bag. On searching the bag, two live Indian Red Sand Boas (Eryx johnii) were recovered,” said an official of the DRI.
