The Warangal First Additional District and Sessions Court awarded the death penalty to Sanjay Kumar Yadav, a 24-year-old migrant worker from Bihar, for the gruesome mass murder of nine people. The bodies of the victims were recovered from an abandoned agricultural well in Gorrekunta village, Geesugonda mandal, Telangana.

Sanjay Kumar Yadav was involved in an intimate relationship with a 37-year-old woman named Rafiqa. When she pressured him to marry her, he laced her buttermilk with sleeping pills, strangled her, and threw her off a running train in Andhra Pradesh.
