The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Hyderabad, apprehended a man during an undercover operation in Warangal for allegedly trading protected Indian Red Sand Boas. Two live snakes were seized and handed over to forest officials for further action under the Wildlife Act, 1972.

Acting on the information, the DRI team conducted an undercover decoy operation on Saturday and caught the individual. “The person was carrying a bag. On searching the bag, two live Indian Red Sand Boas (Eryx johnii) were recovered,” said an official of the DRI.
