Chilli Farmers Seeing Better Prices
After facing low prices for nearly two years, chilli growers have received some relief. The popular Wonder Hot chilli variety has been selling at significantly higher rates in the Enumamula market, helping many farmers recover cultivation costs. Some farmers are optimistic that prices may remain strong through the season. Chilli farmers in India are experiencing a substantial rebound in market profitability during the 2026 harvest season, following a severe price crash in late 2024 and early 2025. A steep decline in overall production has tightened supply, driving market rates to multi-year highs across major trading hubs.
